FAQCommon questions

Common questions before we start.

The first questions most founders and marketing leads ask before engaging a packaging design studio. If yours isn't here, ask it on the contact page.

  • Every project is different and usually requires a tailored approach. Costs vary significantly depending on the number of SKUs and the design required. Understanding the brief first lets us provide the clearest and most accurate estimate before any work begins. No hourly rates. No surprises. No obligation.

  • Every project is different. Initial concepts can take anywhere between one and four weeks, depending on whether we are updating existing SKUs or building from complete naming and strategy. We work to your retailer category review or launch date, not ours.

  • Branding is the identity system. Logo, type, colour, voice, the visual language that holds the brand together. Packaging is that identity applied to a physical product that has to win on a supermarket shelf. We do both, and most often together.

  • Yes. Every pack ships with retailer-ready, manufacturing-aware artwork. Dielines aligned to the printer, ink specs, varnish and foil callouts, regulatory copy, pre-press checks. We work directly with the print supply chain and ship through every major Australian retailer's compliance process.

  • Both. Founder-led challenger brands building toward category leadership, and established brands inside Coles, Woolworths, Chemist Warehouse, Priceline, Petbarn, Sephora US, Big W and Myer. The studio is small and senior by design. The same hands work on every brief.

  • FMCG packaging design is the discipline of designing packs for Fast-Moving Consumer Goods — products that turn over quickly on supermarket, pharmacy and specialty retailer shelves. It combines brand identity, structural design, on-pack copywriting, regulatory compliance and shelf mechanics into a single system built to win at arm's length, in three seconds. It's what we do all day, every day, across food, beverage, health, wellness, beauty, pet and premium grocery categories.

  • Food, beverage, health and wellness, beauty, pet, premium grocery, household, and challenger FMCG brands entering any of the above. Recent work spans supplements (Cenovis, Natural Animal Solutions), self-tan (Australian Glow), craft beer (James Boag's), pet food private label (Providore for Petbarn), smallgoods (DON), artisan bread (Helga's Bakehouse), cider (Five Seeds) and premium grocery (Pickles).

  • Yes. We designed Providore for Dogs, Petbarn's premium private label pet food range. Private label work demands the same craft as a national brand plus a deeper understanding of retailer margins, shelf economics, category tier logic and competing against national brands on the retailer's own shelf. If you're a retailer or a private label supplier, we understand the constraint set.

  • Yes. Range architecture is a core specialism. Recent work covers ranges from three SKUs to over forty. The goal is a system that feels deliberate from the front face all the way through to a future line extension.

  • Melbourne based, working with clients across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States. Most projects run remotely with high-quality video reviews. Distance has never been a barrier on any project we have shipped.
