Who writes them
Every piece is written by Morice Kastoun, the founder and creative director of the studio, drawing on twenty years of branding and packaging work and packs that have been through the retailer processes the guides describe. Research, drafting and structuring are assisted by software tools. Every published sentence is read, checked and signed off by Morice, and the byline means he stands behind it.
What gets cited
Any claim that rests on law, a standard or a retailer requirement links to the primary document: the Food Standards Code, Therapeutic Goods Orders, ACCC information standards, GS1 specifications, APCO guidance, and the retailers' own published supplier material. Where a retailer document sits behind a supplier login we say so and describe what it covers rather than reproduce it. Where a claim rests on studio experience rather than a document, the text says so.
How often it is reviewed
Every guide shows the date it was published, the date it was last reviewed and the date of its next scheduled review. Guides that cover regulation or retailer requirements are re-checked against their sources at least every six months, and sooner when the law changes. When a review changes the substance of a guide, the last-reviewed date moves and the change is noted. When nothing has changed, the date still moves, because a checked date is the point.
What we do not do
We do not publish content to rank for a phrase. We do not accept payment for placement, links or mentions in Guides or Notes. We do not present client work as independent evidence without saying it is client work. Where the studio has a commercial interest in a topic, such as what packaging design costs, the guide says where Morice&Co. sits and lets you draw your own conclusion.
Corrections
If something is wrong, email morice@morice.co. Errors of fact are corrected on the page and acknowledged in the review line. We would rather be corrected than be wrong.
What this is not
Guides are general information for brand owners and designers. They are not legal, regulatory or financial advice for your product. Labelling law, retailer standards and therapeutic goods regulation change, and how they apply depends on the product. Check the primary source, and for anything with legal consequence, get a regulatory consultant or lawyer to review the pack.
